Year 6

Welcome to Year 6, the final chapter of primary school. Year 6 is a very exciting time where you can flourish and lay the foundations to a really strong and promising education: a year of exciting opportunities, rewarding experiences and challenge!

WP 20140902 08 42 51 ProThis is your year to shine. As well as reaching our potential academically, there will be plenty of opportunities to participate in key roles and responsibilities within the school that will equip you for your transition to secondary school. In Year 6 you will be expected to work hard but in return, you will be rewarded with many happy memories, lasting friendships, and an increased confidence and independence to take you onto your next adventure.

Homework: will be set weekly, normally set on Monday and due back the following Monday. Sometimes homework will be peer marked. Spellings will be given weekly and tested on Mondays. The expectation is for at least one hour, plus reading, plus times tables. Times tables can best be practiced through the Times Tables Rock Stars online game, for which all children have logins -https://ttrockstars.com/login . Please support your child with homework, which will sometimes be independent tasks to work on their targets, and sometimes will be more specific activities.
