Key Stage 1 Christmas Fiesta

On Wednesday 11th December 2013 the children of Years 1 and 2 transported their audiences to Mexico for their Christmas Fiesta!

Through speech, drama, song and dance they told the story of how the  Mexican poinsettia became a symbol of Christmas, compared a Mexican Christmas with a British one and enacted a posada (the journey of Mary and Joseph trying to find room at an inn) which ended with a posada party! The children gave a fantastic performance showing great enthusiasm as they sang, danced and played their maraccas (whether real or virtual) and there was even audience participation in their popular Mexican Wave song! The performance ended with a bilingual rendition of Feliz Navidad before Year 1's surprise item of What did Santa Say? , based on a certain similar song about a fox!
