Our Pre-School has been inspected by Ofsted in (January 2014). Ofsted judged our Pre-School to be outstanding in ‘The contribution of the early year’s provision to the well-being of children’ and good in all other areas.

If you are aged 2-5 years, Lickhill Pre-School is the place to be! There is no clear distinction between the words pre-school and nursery. We call ourselves a pre-school as we provide a seamless transition for children into full-time schooling. In our descriptions about our pre-school we use the words nursery and pre-school to make it more interesting and varied for you to read!

Lickhill Pre-School offers children aged 2-5 years a finely tuned, play based curriculum which is personalised to meet each child’s needs.

Friendly, well qualified nursery staff work closely with the reception staff, children and wider school team to make sure that children’s transition into full-time schooling is joyful for all.

The on-site forest is awesome for children to explore. Each Friday Morning we pop on our Wellington boots and build shelters for animals, hunt for minibeasts, and investigate mud, twigs, trees and so much more. Our outdoor classroom and specialist clothing means we can go outdoors whatever the weather. Nationally there are outdoor nurseries (not local!) which inspire us to make the most of outdoor spaces.

Our open door policy means that policies, procedures and information on activities are always available to everyone. We are registered with Ofsted and help to accelerate children’s progress towards the play-based Early Years Foundation Stage goals.
